October is here!
I found this neat leaf on my morning run today, and thought it was just begging to be dreamed up into something else. I think I'll do one of these monthly, not sure whether they'll always be done with leaves, (leafography?) or with something else that translates to that month. It's a project I've been thinking about for a while, but without the seasons in Cayman, there wasn't much of it coming to fruition - not that we've got many seasons in San Fran either. But anyway, stay tuned. The photo calendar will be a thing!
I've been happily in San Francisco just shy of a month now, and I drove cross-country with my BFF, in a minivan with no A/C, to get here. I've been challenging myself to get better at video editing, a necessary talent when your boyfriend designs GoPros for a living (AKA - your hard drive is full of useless video clips unless you do something with them), so that's why you've been seeing more videos from me than usual, and that's why there are two videos for you to watch below!
A little back story on video #2: After seeing ChefStep's steak knives tutorial a few months ago, our own rendition of the craft was item numero uno on the to-do-list once I arrived in CA. We started small; he made a paring knife and I, of course, made a cheese knife. Sets of steak knives to follow in another weekend project. Check out the video! ;)
Once settled, with some income, I plan to get into more weekend projects, expand that portfolio of functional decor, and get those creative juices flowing again!
If you're reading this, you're in/near the Bay Area and you're like "Hey, she seems perfect for that creative position I'm trying to fill," then drop me a line at awildesign@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from ya!
